Welcome to the Keynsham Bells website!
All about the bells that ring out from the tower of St John the Baptist church, and online home of Keynsham Church Bell Ringers.
We're currently working hard to expand our presence on the World Wide Web – in between all our bell-ringing commitments, naturally – so do please follow us on Twitter @KeynshamBells where we'll keep you up-to-date with new pages and features as we add them here, and lots more besides.
Some of the exciting things we've got planned are:
- Video and audio recordings of our bells being rung
- A potted history of the church tower and bells, which can be traced right back to the 16th Century
- An interactive map of what can be seen from the top of the tower – ideal for our occasional Tower Tours
- Details of all the three-hour peals rung on the bells since the very first one in 1910, along with some of the more recent quarter peals and other special performances
...plus anything else we can think of!
Ringing Times
The times at which the bells will be ringing (and why) can be found in the Google Calendars below – ringing times for Keynsham are in red, and for Queen Charlton are in green. Also, new for 2018, Bristol Rural Branch ringing events are in blue. (You can choose to view just one or two calendars using the drop-down list at the top-right). Why not add our ringing times to your own calendar? Simply click the +GoogleCalendar button below and you'll be kept right up-to-date!
Further ringing times will be added to these calendars periodically – the church service times are published every four months.
